The Windrush Task Force has visited 52 areas in England and are almost at an end of their research. They have only two visits in Wales, one of which is in Cardiff later this month, and the other will be in Newport.
The Newport visit will take place on Wednesday 24th October 2018. The meeting will take place at the Pill Millennium Centre between 9am – 5pm.
This is an individual consultation so that each person can confidentially discuss their personal details relating to how the Windrush saga has affected them. So, if you have been served with deportation papers or you have been disadvantaged in any way by Windrush please come along and discuss your issues with them.
Now, if you’re anything like me you may be suspicious about any government task force coming into my area to discuss my personal details. This is why The Caribbean Association of Wales have engaged with the services of immigration lawyer, Hilary Brown (pictured below), of Virgo Consultation Services Ltd.
Hilary has successfully represented scores of Windrush complainants against the Government in recent years, and is prepared to travel to Newport to host an open meeting with the community before the Task Force arrives.
During the pre-task force meeting you’ll have the opportunity to voice any concerns you may have, and with her wealth of knowledge I’m sure she’ll be able to answer them.
Please indicate whether you’d like Hilary to provide us with a pre-meeting briefing.
